About

Growing up, the most vivid memories I have are around family, food, music and smell. As a young girl, in the suburbs of Melbourne, I was a part of a busy Italian‐Australian household, there was always food being prepared with fresh ingredients and a plethora of beautiful smells… figs, basil, tomatoes, olives.. ‐ that rich mixture of aromas.. fresh from our garden.. Those aromas were a constant for me, and gave a sense of comfort and a sense of home.

The smells from the garden changing with the seasons, the citruses: oranges and lemons in Spring, the florals, Begonias and Daphnes in Summer… As a young women in LA I loved the smells of cedar and Boronia. In my early 30s in London it was my Jo Malone’s fig candles and roses in the garden. In Paris, the scents in the gardens around the Marais.. the roses and the Iris. I love these fragrances, and the memories they trigger and happiness they bring… For many years I’ve wanted to develop a signature scent. For the last four years I’ve really focused on this, travelling and immersing myself in the flora of many regions.. I don’t enter into the fragrance word lightly, this is not a vanity project. It’s something I’m very passionate about.

It’s very personal. All the ingredients have been personally selected from my birth country Australia, my adopted home country of France and the home of my ancestors: Italy. These countries and cultures are incredibly important to me and are so wonderfully rich and diverse and I’ve tried to tap into the best of these .. to make something truly unique… and truly special.

I chose the name Renaissance as it’s a word that I relate to. Of course, literally, it translates to Rebirth… and I’ve had a few. Renaissance, to me, conjures up imagery of a classic European painting, a tapestry…. a beautiful sculpture…. it’s a big word, steeped in history and beauty, resilience and romance…. and new beginnings.

All women have many renaissances in life, becoming a teenager, becoming a women, falling in love, some becoming a wife or a mother, entering the workforce, changing jobs, becoming a grandmother or retiring – all new chapters and all being reborn… All beautiful renaissances to be embraced.

This is a fragrance I’m incredibly proud of and it is here. I can’t wait to share it with you..
